Downtown Kelowna Light Up!

December 3rd, 11:00am to 5:00pm

If you thought our downtown core was already awesome, wait till you see it on December 3rd. The Downtown Kelowna Light Up! is bringing all the holiday magic you never knew you needed directly to our town centre. Bring the whole family to the Light Up! for music, entertainment, skating, and the Christmas lighting of the traditional tree at Stuart Park. When it starts feeling a little chilly, head in to one of the many local downtown businesses who offer great shopping and dining experiences. You never know what gift ideas you’ll find and what fabulous meals you’ll eat when you explore the local businesses in Central Okanagan. Oh, and we’ll let you in on a little secret. A man named “Santa” is known to make an appearance. Have you heard of him?

Cedar Creek Winery, December 3rd 12:00PM to 3:00PM

Who said our most prestigious local wineries were strictly meant for sipping? Santa and Mrs. Claus may just love vino too because they’re setting up the workshop at Cedar Creek Winery! Parents, bringing your kids is encouraged for this event. The children will love exploring Santa’s workshop, drinking hot chocolate, and enjoying other fun Christmas activities! Don’t forget your camera! And parents, there’s a special treat for you too: mulled wine. Yum!

Donations go towards the Salvation Army. Gift cards, cash donations, and non-perishable food items are appreciated.

The Nutcracker, Presented by the Canadian School of Ballet

The Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy, a great battle between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King, Hot Chocolate, Coffee, Candy Canes coming to life? Ahh, the familiar visuals of one of the seasons’ most beloved plays, the Nutcracker, playing at Kelowna Community Theatre! Golfing in the Okanagan

Get off of highway and onto fairway! One of advantages to becoming an Okanagan resident is that during 2,000 hours of sunlight Okanagan Valley experiences a year, you access to a number of distinguished courses.

Living in Kelowna entitles you to begin your golfing season early. With wear permitting, golfing season can begin as early as February, and ends in late October, part of privilege of living in an area where we have a rotation of all four seasons, with a minor winter. From downtown core, you can reach Predator Ridge, a premium golf course that hosts PGA events, in only a half an hour. Multiple or tournaments are held at golf courses such as Rockets Alumini Games at Harvest Golf Club, or Westside Warriors Alumini Games.

Gallagher’s Canyon is a golfing community with a great course that is good for a mild day. It is a exposed course and has a enviable practice facility. Harvest has a similar set of courses, so if you’re looking for shade on a hot day, Black Mountain Golf Course is a good consideration as it allows shelter from sun. Tower Ranch is located on McKenzie bench in Rutland, and is an expert course with idyllic views of lake, and if you’re looking to catch sun’s rays during day, is way to do it. Bear and Quail (Okanagan Golf Club) is anor place to gain some experience at a capable and favored practice facility to evolve your skills. Alternatively, Country Club skirts bottom of Dilworth Mountain, giving you experience of still being in town, paired with breathtaking mountain views.

West Kelowna has two courses as well, for those wanting to stay on or side of lake. re is Two Eagles Golf Course, a favourite among West Kelowna locals, as well as Shannon Lake. A Play Golf Kelowna Pass is a diverse membership you can , which offers you discounts at multiple courses, for those who want to experience a little bit of everything.

The Vibrant Vine

A colourful 3D experience you won’t find at any other Okanagan winery, The Vibrant Vine is a magnificent vino experience. When you walk in, you’ll be directed to put on a pair of 3D glasses as the artwork in the wine shop explodes with 3rd dimension colours and designs. Complete with an amazing flight selection, the Vibrant Vine is filled with passionate wine connoisseurs who will be happy to explain why each individual blend is so special. Make sure to ask them the story behind “WOOPS”.

Tantalus Vineyards

A gorgeous sipping experience, Tantalus Vineyards provides tremendous views of Okanagan Lake and more importantly, delightful and authentic wines that will leave you satisfied and happy. The team at Tantalus are personable, helpful and proud to be pouring at the oldest producing vineyard in the province.

Must Try: Old Vines Riesling (tastes like sour candy!)

The View Vineyard

The View is a special winery that provides visitors with a romantic tasting and seductive story. Born from a carefree and loving moment by the owners, The View is fabulous and fun (hence the red heel logo). Hospitable, friendly and passionate, this vineyard is home to delicious wines, ciders and sparkling wines.

Camelot Vineyards

An award-winning winery in Kelowna, you can probably guess the theme of Camelot Vineyards as medieval history is unmistakably present in the décor. Here, you’ll find plenty of photo-taking opportunities with a suit of armor, swords, complete with a replica of the round table which of course, is where you’ll sip your exquisite vino. Be sure to stop by and check out the medieval decorations before or after your flight of unique and delicious blends.
